  • Are There Any Prerequisites For PT 101?

    There are no prerequisites to take this course, however it’s beneficial for students to be familiar with: - Basic audio and MIDI recording techniques - Basic multi-track mixing concepts (such as setting levels and panning) - Basic definition of effects such as EQ, Dynamic FX, Delays, Reverbs etc. - Digital audio equipment such as MIDI controllers and audio interfaces - A working knowledge of Windows or Macintosh or operating systems

  • Are There Any Prerequisites For PT 110?

    Successful completion of the Pro Tools Fundamentals I (PT101) course through SRA or another certified AVID Learning Partner (ALP) -or- an equivalent level of previous training and working understanding of how to: - Create sessions - Select session parameters - Edit modes and tools effectively - Set Grid and Nudge values - Create and recall memory locations - Navigate tracks and media - Create Edit selections using a variety of common techniques - Use plug-ins for signal processing and virtual instruments - Create a basic mix - Use basic automation techniques

  • What Equipment Do I Need?

    Students will need to have: - Pro Tools software (10 or higher) - Pro Tools 101 Book (11 or higher) - Their own laptop (Mac or PC) - MIDI keyboard or other small keyboard (up to 2 octaves) - Headphones

  • Do I Get A Certificate of Completion?

    Yes, upon completion of either of our courses we will issue you an "Seattle Recording Arts Certificate of Completion."

  • I Have Passed My Course, Now What?

    Now it's time to take your AVID Pro Tools User Certification test. ***Students must pass the AVID Pro Tools certification exam proctored by Seattle Recording Arts, standardized through AVID/Pro Tools. For entrance to exam, students must pass the prerequisite Pro Tools 101 exam.***
